The Artist DERRICK-EE, whose real name is Derrick Eiflaar, is originally a bassist who, over the past five years, has also embraced singing as one of his musical pursuits. He thoroughly enjoys combining these skills now.
DERRICK-EE grew up in Amsterdam in a loving family with exemplary parents and siblings. From a very young age, he was passionate about music.
He quickly mastered the bass guitar, taking lessons and practicing extensively at home. It wasn’t long before he entered the reggae scene. After performing with many renowned artists such as Gregory Isaacs, Kenny B, Maxi Priest, Gyptian, Tanya Stephens, Etana, and more, the idea of creating something for himself took shape.
He began producing his own music and writing lyrics, resulting in the release of eight singles to date. These can be found on platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and others.
DERRICK-EE is a socially conscious individual, which is why several collaborations are planned for the near future. He sings in English, Surinamese, and Dutch, performing both original songs and covers. His main genre is reggae, but his repertoire also includes R&B, soul, jazz, and Kaseko. He performs alongside the RoyalRootsBand, the most well-known reggae backing band in the Netherlands.
